Fish Tank Decorations
Fish tank decorations or ornaments are very pleasing to our eyes. Although ornaments are more for our benefit than for fish, certain species do have preferences and the necessity for some structures within the fish tank. Ornaments are used occasionally as living quarters or hiding places, especially with baby fish. Some species don’t even like ornaments all that much. One such fish is the Oscar.

Ornaments can and should be cleaned, as algae certainly take a liking to decor in your tank. Algae eaters are always a possibility, although some can be rather aggressive. Another cleaning solution is to remove the ornaments from the tank and clean them. However, harsh chemicals are a no-no in cleaning decorations, as not rinsing these cleaning agents effectively can lead to dire circumstances for the inhabitants of your fish tank.
In conclusion, fish tank decorations can be beautiful to the human eye, and functional to the dwellers within your tank. They should be kept clean and reflect, to an extent, the natural environment of the species that your aquariums is housing.
